DH's boss bought tickets to see Dave Ramsey in May.
I've heard mixed things from him. Anyone love him? Hate him? Should I be nervous or excited??

My worry is that some tend to see his way as the only way or that it's the best way, and I don't completely agree with that viewpoint.

He is a bit extreme however. He basically wants you to empty out our savings account except for $1000 (the baby emergency fund) and pay any excess to debt. I did go down to $1500 (I know my washing machine is going to die soon so I gave myself a little extra cushin) and now I do feel a little uneasy if an emergency does happen. I feel like I should at least have enough cash to cover insurance deductibles.
I am not sure everthing he says is realistic also - never have a car loan again? Sure that would be wonderful, but I don't think it will happen in my life.
Otherwise - Again, I was really motivated by him and would recommend reading his book or going to see him talk.

There are some mathematically better ways to pay off debt that how he says. However, while mathematically better they don't take into account behaviour. I've taken about 90% of what he teaches and used it for me, to wonderful results.
Pesonally I'm jealous you are getting to to to the show.
I'm not as .. how do I say this.. fervent in my expression of my religion as he is, so I let that stuff wash over me rather than let it upset me.
